Chinatown Night Market 2025

I was honored to design the 2025 Philadelphia Chinatown Night Market poster. Drawing from my Chinese heritage and personal connection to Chinatown, I aimed to incorporate both cultural significance and nostalgia into the design. The poster is inspired by the traditional Chinese calendar, a familiar object recognized across generations of Asian American families. Elements such as the date, zodiac horoscopes, lucky numbers, and daily insights were adapted to create a fun and informative visual format.

Illustrations highlight the relationship between Chinatown and the night market. The Friendship Gate, lion dances, and elderly figures represent the community and cultural foundation of Chinatown, while food trucks, performers, and a microphone convey the lively energy of the night market. Bubble tea and dumplings were included as staple foods that connect everyday Chinatown life with the event.
